CIRCUS FIASCO is de kolkende arena waarbinnen een grote groep makers vanuit verschillende media en disciplines laten zien wat performance kan zijn en in gang kan zetten. Een feestelijk en verrassend avondvullend event dat dient als inspiratiebron voor toevallige bezoekers, makers, denkers en deelnemers. CIRCUS FIASCO onderzoekt op veelzijdige wijze de kern van performance: een welbewust uitgevoerde handeling. En stelt daarbij de vraag: Wat kan die handeling zijn, betekenen en veroorzaken?

CIRCUS FIASCO is onderdeel van het Arnhems Stadsatelier, een samenwerking tussen vier Arnhemse cultuurorganisaties: Theater aan de Rijn, Plaatsmaken, ArtEZ University of the Arts en The HUB. Het doel van deze samenwerking is om de Arnhemse kunstwereld diverser en toegankelijker te maken, zowel voor kunstenaars als voor het publiek. Nieuwe manieren van samenwerken tussen kunst, publiek en samenleving staan hierin centraal. Het Arnhems Stadsatelier wordt mogelijk gemaakt door Gemeente Arnhem.

CIRCUS FIASCO is the swirling arena where a large group of makers from various media and disciplines demonstrate what performance can be and what it can set in motion. A festive and surprising evening-long event that serves as a source of inspiration for casual visitors, makers, thinkers, and participants. CIRCUS FIASCO explores the core of performance in a multifaceted way: a consciously executed action. And in doing so, it poses the question: What can that action be, mean, and cause?

CIRCUS FIASCO is part of Arnhems Stadsatelier, a collaboration between four Arnhem cultural organizations: Theater aan de Rijn, Plaatsmaken, ArtEZ University of the Arts and The HUB. The goal of this collaboration is to make the Arnhem art world more diverse and accessible, for both artists and the public. New ways of collaborating between art, the public, and society are central to this. Arnhems Stadsatelier is made possible by the Municipality of Arnhem.
