NeuroBlast

Het idee om NeuroBlast op te zetten is begonnen toen ik te horen kreeg dat bij een van de vriendjes van mijn twee zoons de ziekte Neuroblastoom van geconstateerd en dat hij voor de handeling hiervoor voor zes maanden naar Amerika zou moeten. Hier is geld voor nodig, veel geld.

Als dit festival bezig is zit Brent met z’n vader en oma al in Amerika, maar nog steeds is er geld nodig voor die lange 6 maanden aangezien huisvesting e.d. niet door de verzekeraar wordt vergoed.

Waarom wordt het niet in Nederland dan gedaan, vraag je je dan af. Heel simpel, in Nederland zijn ze nog niet zover om de immuuntherapie die hij nodig heeft te verzorgen.

Over Brent:

Brent is een ondeugend, lief en ondernemend mannetje van 5 jaar oud. Hij heeft 2 lieve ouders, een grote broer die hij regelmatig op stang jaagt en een leuk zusje voor wie hij erg zorgzaam is. Op 19 april 2013 stortte zijn wereldje in. Bij Brent is neuroblastoom stadium 4 geconstateerd, dit is een zeer zeldzame vorm van kinderkanker. Deze vorm treft 1 op de 100.000 kinderen, waarbij de overlevingskansen vaak erg laag zijn. Van de 25 kindjes overleven uiteindelijk gemiddeld maar 5. Gelukkig is er voor Brent goede hoop. Hij zal hiervoor wel een zwaar traject moeten ondergaan. Dit traject bestaat uit verschillende zware chemo kuren, meerdere operaties, een stamceltransplantatie en bestraling. Als hij al deze behandelingen heeft doorstaan, zal hij voor verdere behandeling, met zijn vader en oma moeten afreizen naar Amerika waar hij immuuntherapie zal krijgen. Deze behandeling zal zijn overlevingskansen met ca. 20% verhogen. De behandeling duurt minstens 6 maanden en kost heel veel geld. Brent zal in december gaan beginnen aan zijn therapie in Amerika. Om deze behandeling en alle bijkomende kosten te helpen financieren, hebben we de Stichting Brent in het leven geroepen.

Short Biography:

Ravishing death metal machine Houwitser was founded in 1997 by Michel Alderliefsten. The Dutch death metal commandos have their official headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In different formations Houwitser unleashed 5 full-length albums upon mankind. 

Houwitser currently reorganized their squad. Mike van Mastrigt, the original frontman and drummer Marten van Kruijssen where recruited for this ‘Terror Legion’. The Houwitser death metal commandos are working on their 6th full-length album. This devastating piece of art must be ready before the battle of Armageddon.

After 25 years the clan is back home! During the five years that Martyr was alive and kicking (1982-1987), the band released two albums that are considered to be cult classics in the metal scene today. For The Universe (1985) and Darkness At Time's Edge (1986) are classic metal, a delight for those who love strong melodies, speedy riffs and a high level of technicality. In those years, Martyr appeared on compilation albums from Roadrunner and Metal Blade, was voted Holland's best new metal band in Aardschok magazine, toured with several international acts, and appeared on Sky Channel's Monsters Of Rock.

Martyr disbanded in 1987, but reunited in 2001 to play the Heavy Metal Maniacs festival. Four years later, the band revived almost the complete 1982 line up to play the Headbangers Open Air and Keep It True festivals. The flame has been burning again and the band continued to play live ever since. In December 2008, Martyr supported US Shock Rockers Lizzy Borden on their European tour. In 2009 and 2010, Martyr hit the European stages supporting legendary acts such as Flotsam & Jetsam, Vicious Rumors, Jaguar, Evergrey and more.  
 
In 2009, the first new Martyr record in almost 25 years was released. The new EP Fear was coupled with a re-release of the classic For The Universe album as a double digipack on Rusty Cage Records.  
 
In 2010 and 2011, Martyr re-entered the studio between the live shows to work on the follow up to Fear. A complete new album called Circle Of 8 will be a significant impulse in Martyr's revival. And by signing with Metal Blade once again, the band's career has come full circle!

Pounding drums, blazing guitars and breathtaking vocals. Both clean and pure as well as distorted and perverted. Sin7sinS is a female fronted metal band from the Netherlands that distinguishes itself with its unique sound.  
 
The band was founded under the banner of a project. A project that at the end of 2007 grew to maturity by finding the musicians it missed. Sin7sinS became a real band and recorded a demo. A demo which brought them immediate attention and led to a number of great live shows, starting off at the famous Paradiso in Amsterdam. In 2008 the band toured Holland as part of the Dutch Jägermeister Tour line-up. In 2010 Sin7sinS recorded their first full-lenght album named "Perversion Ltd.". September of 2010 Sin7sinS signed a record deal with Massacre Records. The album was released worldwide on October 29 of 2010 and was very well received by the international press.  
 
Over the past few years Sin7sinS has played a number of awesome shows and left their footprint in the female fronted metal scene. Well-known for continuously renewing their sound and stage performance. In the summer of 2011 Sin7sinS decided to take things up a notch and convince fans around the world of their music. They took a six month pause for the writing of new material and to prepare new recordings. 
 
The second album is named “Carnival of No Tomorrow” and was recorded at the end of 2011. The album was mixed and produced by Swedish metal-legend Dan Swanö. Dan Swanö himself and Mark Jansen (Epica/MaYaN) contributed with a guest vocal appearance on the album. The album is released on May 11 of 2012 and will also be available for download.

In 1989 werd Wicked Mystic opgericht. Na enkele demo’s verscheen in januari 1994 de cd: ‘Mend or End’. Dat deden wij destijds op eigen kracht en speelden regelmatig in het Nederlandse clubcircuit. De cd werd goed ontvangen en leverde ons een undergroundstatus op. Vanaf 1996 wijzigde de bezetting en gaandeweg ook het geluid van de band. In die gewijzigde bezetting verschenen nog 2 cd’s op het Mausoleum label. De band toerde o.a. met Overkill door Europa en speelde supports voor Motörhead, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Dio, Nevermore en Mercyful Fate. Eind 2002 viel het doek voor de band: Een blessure, onderlinge meningsverschillen en een verwaterde visie op de muziek zorgden ervoor dat de kaars uitging. Ieder ging zijns weegs.  
In 2011 werd het 20 jarige jubileum van Rockcafé Backstage in Nijmegen gevierd. We werden gevraagd om nog één keer  in de originele ‘Mend or End’ line up op te treden. Dat had wel wat voeten in de aarde: een aantal van ons is muzikaal actief gebleven in bands of als studiotechnicus maar anderen moesten de instrumenten zelfs eerst weer aanschaffen! 
Het optreden ter ere van het 20 jarige bestaan van Rockcafé Backstage was geweldig: Het betekende het weerzien met een hoop oude bekenden en vooral het herbeleven van waar het allemaal ook alweer omging: een pot metal spelen! Vrij vlot na het optreden besloten we onder het genot van wat biertjes om de draad weer op te pakken met als uitgangspunt: plezier en muziek maken zoals toen we 15 waren.   
Die lijn hebben we vastgehouden, ook toen we besloten om een cd op te nemen met herbewerkingen van een aantal oude nummers, aangevuld met nieuwe nummers. Ook nu gold het devies; alles zelf doen en op onze voorwaarden. Zelfs de productie van de cd namen we in eigen hand, in onze eigen ‘Casagrande Studio’. Op deze manier konden we ongestoord werken aan een cd zoals wij het altijd al voor ogen hadden maar nooit hebben kunnen maken.  
Muzikaal hebben we vastgehouden aan datgene wat ons destijds geïnspireerd heeft:The Bay Area Thrash.  Middels de cover ‘Bonded by Blood” brengen we nog een ode aan onze jeugd, de oude thrashdagen en aan de band Exodus die deze baanbrekende sound mede vorm heeft gegeven. 
Het artwork, vormgegeven door Petra Guijt, onderstreept ook onze levensfase: we zijn allen veertigers geworden, sommigen van ons hebben gezinnen maar hebben ook te maken gehad met de dood van familie en vrienden. Je brein is als een boom, creatief en veelzijdig maar uiteindelijk valt ook definitief het blad. Daarom wees zuinig op wat je hebt; Beware and Whisper…

Mortal Form

Mortal Form was found in 1999 by Vince (guitar), Teun (guitar), Bastiaan (drums) and Tim (bass / vocals). Their main goal was, and still is, to combine the best elements of both thrash and death metal in their music. The authentic sound of Mortal Form is completed by adding a melodic parts and traditional guitar solos to their songs.  
Soon after Mortal Form was found, they hit the studio to record their first demo-CD “X-Plore”. During these recordings, Tim left the band and was replaced by Edme (vocals) and Tobias (bass). Edme completed the vocal parts on “X-plore” before the demo-CD was released in 1999. Local shows followed.  
In 2000 Mortal Form hit the studio again to record their second demo-CD “The End of Times” that was released in the same year. It received good critics in the underground press and in the period following Mortal Form did many gigs in and outside Holland. 
After the release of “The End of Times” Mortal Form decided to write additional material for a full length with the working title “Evil Reborn” that was recorded in 2002. Due to several reasons, it was never officially released. But only a 3-track promo was distributed for promotional purposes. The promo was well received, gigs continued. After a period of almost 4 years vocalist Edme was forced to leave the band in 2003 due to a lack of interest. Rogier (vocals) replaced Edme soon after.  
With new vocalist Rogier Mortal Form was asked to record three songs for a compilation disk of the local metal scene. They hit the studio in 2003 and recorded three brand new songs. These three songs represent the roots of the current Mortal Form sound. The compilation was released in 2003. After the release, Mortal Form played support gigs for several acclaimed artists until Tobias left the band in 2005 and was replaced by Oscar (bass, former Solstice). 
In the following period Mortal Form decided it was time to take the band sound to a higher level and they took until 2008 to write material for a new full length. In the meantime, the gigs continued less intensive. Mortal Form entered both the Marmer and Snowstar Studio in 2008 to record their debut full-length “Taste the Blood” with Nico van Montfoort (Heidevolk, Strike First, A Silent Express, a.o.).  
“Taste the Blood” was released in January 2009 by My Kingdom Music (ITA) and received excellent reviews by the metal press all over the world. Mortal Form played loads of gigs in Benelux and Germany with acclaimed artists on the bigger venues and prestigious festivals.  
In 2010, Rogier decided to leave the band and was soon after replaced by old German friend Ralf (vocals, also Witchtower). In this new line up Mortal Form started writing songs for a pre production of the new album.  
In December 2011 Mortal Form started the recordings of their second album called "The Reckoning"at the Soundlodge studio in Germany. Producer Jorg Uken produced, recorded en mixed the album.  
On May the 13th 2013 The Reckoning is released worldwide by My Kingdom Music!

Deluzion

In 2002 Deluzion started in Zutphen NL. Packed with riff based Gothenburg  
orientated songs the stages were hit. The first mini-cd 'Fractured  
Dimension' came out in 2004 (it's obvious where [deluzion] inspiration is  
from: At The Gates, In Flames and even the comparison with Callenish Circle  
could be made - Lords of Metal E-zine).

After drastical line-up changes the writing process proceeded and developed. The band continued gigging, shared the stage with Testament, Genitorturers, One Man Army and the Undead Quartet, God Dethroned, Dead Head and many others. The live mini-cd ‘Alive and Wrecking’ came out in 2007 with three tracks of ‘wrecking metal’ also the well-known cover ‘Poison’ from Alice Cooper was put out on Myspace. With a highlight by participating on Elsrock 2008 the band took a break, due to lack of time and different prospectives.

After an attempt to start over in 2010, it took until the summer of 2011 to begin writing new material. Maybe some oldies will be played, but the focus lies on our new tracks! What to expect? Heavier, tighter and more brutal ‘Wrecking Metal’. Recognisable for many, surprising for more! Soon to be heard at a gig near you!!!
